We are constantly learning and developing new skills. We do this in all aspects of our life. Learning happens in association with others, home alone, in formal and informal settings.
Education and learning opens doors to new possibilities – new ways of seeing and experiencing the world, of understanding ourselves and others, of performing workplace tasks and accepting new responsibilities.
Wimmera HUB has been serving our local community for more than 37 years. We are a locally owned and operated, not for profit organisation providing full and part-time employment for approximately 50 people. Our shared goal is to provide education and training that will assist individuals increase their personal and professional skills.
Over the past 12 months, major changes have been occurring at Wimmera HUB. We have reviewed our programs, our services and our resources to ensure they meet the training needs of individuals and workplaces throughout our community.
In 2012 we will be delivering training on-site in a range of workplaces, on-line to different student groups, and in communities throughout the Wimmera and beyond. Our training includes customised skill development to meet the needs of a changing workforce, (developed in consultation with each workplace) industry skills (such as First Aid, Forklift and Confined spaces), personalised skills development (computers, literacy, numeracy, ESL, hospitality) and nationally accredited certificate training (Aged Care, Children’s Services, Disability, Youth Work, Frontline Management, Community Development and IT).

We are also forging strong partnerships with a number of local organisations and are pleased to announce that all Aged and Home and Community Care training will be delivered in partnership with Wimmera Health Care Group. This partnership will provide wonderful opportunities for our learners, accessing the most advanced skills and support available in the Wimmera to develop important health and personal care skills.
